Research has shown that sensory needs continue to climb, especially for those with a disability.\r\n\r\nYour donation towards providing sensory activities in my classroom has enabled me to have the resources to individualize the sensory options for each student, along with providing more opportunities for my students to explore in a sensory rich environment. \r\n\r\nThis might be through simply having a tactile object in their hand for calming/reducing anxiety or frustration, or exploring science with water, soap, coloring, and objects in our sensory bin. My students have been utilizing the paints, colors, and objects for multiple sensory activities and get excited when they see the sensory bin open. This excitement enables us to include additional communication opportunities as students can use visuals to request different colors, taking turns, and sharing with their peers.","fullyFundedDate":1730298970451,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-art-supplies-for-hands-on-learni/8846897/","projectTitle":"Sensory Art Supplies for Hands-On Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Christan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9332004_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1705781523979","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-hickman-prek"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_124449","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":26,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":46.5,"schoolId":124449,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dr. Frank Hewins Early Learning Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dr. Frank Hewins Early Learning Center ","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/franklin-pierce-school-district-402/dr-frank-hewins-early-learning-center/124449"}
