Many great conversations were had in each classroom as to why we need to be protected against particulates in the air. The students learned a lot about air polllution and how it affects our health. We had a PowerPoint presentation going over what they needed to do to secure the windows, vents, and doors and how long the students thought we might need to shelter in place in different scenarios, such as Mt. Rainier erupting.\r\n\r\nTo preserve our new, precious supplies, we did not dampen the towels or use the duct tape on the garbage bags over the vents and windows, but we did place the towels and pretended to put up the garbage bags. The participation level with the students was very high and they were excited to help.\r\n\r\nWe are keeping supplies in each room in our emergency backpacks.
