I showed the students how to turn on an oven and explained what preheating is and the importance of it. Throughout the pizza making process students learned how to properly use an oven to cook food that they could eat.\r\n They were able to work alongside me to learn step by step how to knead dough, create a pizza crust, add sauce, cheese, toppings, learn how to safely put it in the oven, check on it, and remove it safely with proper equipment. Thank you so much for giving my students this amazing opportunity and many experiences to come.","fullyFundedDate":1755308992886,"projectUrl":"project/cooking-essentials-becoming-independent/9584262/","projectTitle":"Cooking Essentials: Becoming Independent","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Boice","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10173618_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755080575091","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10173618"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35786","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":656,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":28,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.8,"schoolId":35786,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Illahee Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Illahee Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/federal-way-public-schools/illahee-middle-school/35786"}
