All of them are popular with the students but the favorite by far are the shapes that go on the light table. They love to make patterns, count, and make pictures with these great transparent shapes. I will send you some pictures of them and you'll see the joy. Plus, we have been talking a lot about colors, so they liked holding the pieces up to their faces and seeing the world through colored 'glasses'. \r\n The excitement when I poured out the pieces on the light table was palpable. Everyone instantly wanted to be first to explore them. \r\n The next step is for me to build math centers around these items. I have already used the pattern blocks. Students looked at paper pattern block pictures and tried to recreate them on the light table. It was a great way for them to practice their visual discrimination skills and think about shape orientation and placement. \r\n Thank you again for your support of my classroom and for getting these materials in particular. They are so versatile and hands-on, perfect for my students. I really appreciate your generosity toward us.","fullyFundedDate":1756315492286,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-manipulatives/9425948/","projectTitle":"Hands on Manipulatives!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Priest","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3769970_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472257316825","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3769970"},{"teacherId":3769970,"projectId":9481158,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your financial generosity toward my classroom. It really meant so much to start the year with the school supplies you funded. \r\n Because of you, every student in my class has a binder for their poetry book. As you can see in the picture, we use the crayons and the binders every week as students collect their own copies of the poems to keep. They really like having their poetry binders and it makes organizing a lot easier! \r\n This past week we did 'puffy' paint ghosts for the holiday season. Students helped spray shaving cream into a cup and combined with the glue you bought for us, got to mix together the two ingredients to create 'paint' and then make a 'ghost' that will dry with 3D texture. This is a very fun and engaging activity and they loved it. For some it becomes a whole sensory experience! (and a big mess, but its Kindergarten so that's okay!). \r\n You will also see how the cork board you bought covered a very unsightly wall. Now this is where art students create will hang! The stickers you bought us are beautiful and the students' favorites (they clamor for the 'special' ones), and we've used the sharpies multiples times. I just don't have any pictures because I don't leave them unattended for a moment when they have permanent markers. \r\n Thank you again for the gift of your generosity. Everything you bought us is used and loved with gratitude.","fullyFundedDate":1754161867665,"projectUrl":"project/fall-school-supplies/9481158/","projectTitle":"Fall School Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Priest","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3769970_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472257316825","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3769970"},{"teacherId":3769970,"projectId":9578371,"letterContent":"Every time I call students to the rug to learn, I am thankful to you.
