The magazine always provides fun, age-appropriate, and thought-provoking topics that spark lively discussion while helping students build background knowledge and strengthen their non-fiction reading skills.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the engaging articles, the accompanying worksheets offer meaningful practice that directly supports students in meeting Common Core learning standards. They provide opportunities for students to practice close reading, cite text evidence, and build vocabulary in ways that feel both accessible and challenging. This combination of high-interest reading and purposeful skill-building activities is making a real difference in their confidence and growth as readers.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made all of this possible. Keeping our students excited and engaged in reading is so important. Battle of the Books is such a fun social way to enjoy books together. \r\n\r\nSeven teams competed in our in school challenge; Purple Periwinkle Ponies, Lightning McQueens, Dino.com, Dr. Pepper, Savage Pineapple, Crimson Shaqs, and the Bubble Guppies. Savage Pineapple won and went on to compete in the citywide final round where they came in 2nd place. \r\n\r\nAll the students who participated had a great experience and it couldn't have happened without you.
