My students LOVE LOVE LOVE their new flexible seating options! From the moment the cushions, stools, and rockers entered our classroom, students have not stopped asking to use them. They have increased student engagement and comfort beyond measure.\r\n\r\nMore specifically, the stools have provided a much more comfortable and versatile seating option for our small-group table than what used to reside there. We are using the floor rockers and cushions as comfy options for quiet reading around the classroom. I have never seen first graders anywhere near this excited to read to self!\r\n\r\nThese flexible seating choices have also sparked class discussions related to fairness, turn-taking, gratitude, varying needs of students, and taking care of our classroom belongings.
