Thanks to your support, we now have a calming waterfall, a colorful rug, a cozy couch, soft lighting from two white pebble lamps, and a soft weighted blanket. These simple additions have completely changed the atmosphere of our room. It now feels warm, inviting, and safe for every student who walks through the door.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new space, they were amazed. They immediately noticed how soothing the waterfall sounded and how soft and comfortable the couch and rug felt. Several students described it as \"relaxing\" or \"cozy.\" This calming area has already become an essential part of our day, especially for students who struggle with emotional regulation and for those with special needs. It gives them a place to breathe, reset, and build the skills they need to manage big feelings. \r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping make our classroom a place where every child can feel safe, happy and relaxed.","fullyFundedDate":1759722545985,"projectUrl":"project/cheer-up-my-new-classroom/9642517/","projectTitle":"Cheer up my new classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cowling","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9719863_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y240&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725047969581","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9719863"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35760","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":550,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":26,"percentAsian":48,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":26,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":88.5,"schoolId":35760,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Newport Heights Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Newport Heights Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/bellevue-school-district-405/newport-heights-elementary-school/35760"}
