The materials we received through Donors Choose really helped amp up our labs for the curriculum on wing design and the lift equation. Project-based learning is central to student engagement. The adage that 'telling isn't teaching' lends well to the demand for more hands-on activities in the aerospace science lab. The materials we received put the students in the driver's seat to discover the importance of the engineering design process, allowing for some errors along the way and watching with delight as their model wings took flight in our lab. Without access to simple but essential materials we received through your important donations, this lesson in flight physics would have reduced the learning experience to little more than a static lesson plan and readings from a textbook.
