These tools are already making a remarkable difference in how my 11th-grade students engage with their writing and communication skills. The podcasting project you helped fund has been a positive addition to our English classroom, allowing students to record and listen to their persuasive essays. This innovative approach helps them hear their own words, catch mistakes, and refine their arguments. Your contributions have given my students the opportunity to explore their voices in a whole new way.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase markers have also been transformative in our collaborative activities. Students now work together at whiteboard-topped tables, brainstorming, analyzing, and peer-editing essays.. Seeing their ideas come to life visually has sparked creativity and encouraged teamwork in students. These markers have become tools for connection; they help students engage with one another and share feedback in a dynamic and hands-on way. Your donation has made it possible for every student to actively participate, ensuring no one is left behind in our learning journey. An additional benefit of having these headphones in this class is that many students are able to have the audio book of a novel playing as they read with the narrator. It allows them to hear the proper fluency and cadence of a story, so this increases their own fluency when they read without the audio. They are able to go at their own pace, differentiating instruction for all abilities. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has had a direct and profound impact on my students' growth as writers, thinkers, and collaborators. Because of you, they are developing skills that will carry them far beyond the classroom and into their futures. Thank you for believing in my students and for providing the resources they need to thrive. Your support is making a lasting difference in their lives, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our journey.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYou said:","fullyFundedDate":1731886306949,"projectUrl":"project/creating-better-writers-through-podcasti/8949901/","projectTitle":"Creating Better Writers Through Podcasting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fisher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9581446_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1719884522340","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581446"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_59202","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1899,"numTeachers":110,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":32,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.9,"schoolId":59202,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tallwood High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tallwood High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/virginia-beach-city-public-schools/tallwood-high-school/59202"}
