They asked each day if they could see anything through the microscopes. Many of them inquired as to why and by whom we received them.\r\n\r\nI chose to show them the cells of onion root tips going through mitosis because we were discussing mitotic cell division. To their astonishment, they were able to comprehend additional ideas mandated by the learning standards in addition to recognizing the stages under microscope. I was really pleased with the way they handled the materials and their desire to learn everything they could about utilizing these important learning tools. \r\n\r\nWe will be studying classification and the stages of structural organization after we get back from spring break. This will enable us to see some microbes, including bacteria and protists.
