Because of your generosity, students are actively using the donated materials in creative and meaningful ways across grade levels. During our Grinchmas celebration, students used Makey Makey kits to play \"Jingle Bells\" on a cardboard piano. Watching students make music using paper, metal, and technology was an exciting moment that helped them understand how creativity, engineering, and problem-solving can work together.\r\n\r\nThe new paper storage system has also made a huge impact in our Maker Space. Construction paper, origami paper, and foam sheets are now neatly organized and easy for students to find and use independently. This simple change has saved valuable class time and empowered students to take ownership of their materials. When the supplies arrived, students were eager to explore everything and immediately began planning projects they wanted to create, which led to more focused and purposeful work time.\r\n\r\nThese materials continue to support learning through engaging projects. Our youngest students in PK–1st grade are using straws, connectors, and construction planks to explore symmetry by building snowflake designs, while older students are using Colors of the World markers and origami paper to follow multi-step directions to fold and decorate Grinchmas gnomes. Next, students will apply these same tools to future design challenges (like building small samples of the Berlin Wall in 6th grade history class) that encourage collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
