The privacy folders have been a huge hit with my students—especially during independent work and testing. They love having their own personal space to focus without distractions, and I've noticed a big improvement in their concentration and confidence. One of my favorite moments was watching students proudly set up their folders for the first time; they immediately treated them as their own \"learning zones.\"\r\n\r\nThe individual book boxes have also made a world of difference. Each student now has a personal place to store their books and materials, keeping our classroom neat and helping them take ownership of their learning. Since we switch classes and have no lockers, we have shared cubbies. My homeroom class didn't have a place to put their personal belongings or things that they didn't want to carry from class to class. The bins have provided that place for them. I've seen students stay more organized and eager to read, knowing exactly where their books are. These simple tools have created a calmer, more efficient classroom where students can truly thrive. And I must say, I have 19 students in my homeroom class. The book bins that I selected and provided fit PERFECTLY on the counter that I had in mind to place them. It was meant to be!\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom and helping my students grow as focused, independent learners. The addition of these resources has transformed recess time into an engaging, collaborative, and enjoyable experience. Students now have a variety of choices that encourage creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, which has made indoor recess something they look forward to rather than a time of restlessness. Students are using the magnetic blocks to pretend play, coming up with their own \"businesses\" and selling the products that they are building with their blocks. \r\n\r\nTeachers and administration have also noticed a significant improvement in student behavior and focus after recess. The materials provide healthy outlets for energy, help students build social skills, and foster a sense of community within the classroom. By giving them opportunities to work together in fun and constructive ways, we've seen an increase in cooperation and positive peer interactions. Overall, these new materials have enriched the school day, helping our students return to their learning with refreshed minds and positive attitudes.","fullyFundedDate":1733243165186,"projectUrl":"project/indoor-recess-games-and-manipulatives/8800442/","projectTitle":"Indoor Recess Games and Manipulatives","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Young","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7590927_orig.jpg?crop=404,404,x36,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715182351023","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7590927"},{"teacherId":7235895,"projectId":9046623,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom through DonorsChoose. They were thrilled to have \"big kid\" books that they could actually read independently. We've been using them in our small group lessons to build fluency, comprehension, and stamina. One memorable moment was when a student who typically struggles with reading completed an entire chapter on his own—he was so proud and couldn't wait to share what he'd read with a friend!\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my students now have access to engaging, level-appropriate texts that make them feel like real readers. Your support has made a significant impact on our classroom environment, and I'm excited to share the positive changes we've experienced.\r\n\r\nSince introducing the new flexible seating options, my students have been more engaged, focused, and enthusiastic about their learning. We are using the resources in a variety of ways to support different learning styles and activities. For instance, during our recent writing activity, students chose seating arrangements that best suited their needs. Some gathered around the carpet with cushions for group discussions, while others preferred stools and a table for collaboration and taking notes. This autonomy has fostered a sense of ownership and responsibility in their learning.\r\n\r\nI'll never forget the moment my students first saw the new seating arrangements. Their eyes lit up with excitement, and the room buzzed with energy as they explored the different options. One student exclaimed, \"This feels like a fun place to learn!\" Watching them eagerly find their preferred spots and settle into their work with newfound enthusiasm was truly heartwarming.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to integrate flexible seating into our upcoming writing project. Students will have the freedom to choose seating that supports both independent research and group collaboration. This approach not only enhances their academic skills but also helps them develop critical social and self-regulation skills.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous support.
