Students can quietly get a pencil when they need one instead of searching through desks or interrupting instruction to ask for supplies.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were excited to see the new organization tools because they immediately understood how they would make our classroom routines easier. These may seem like simple supplies, but they have made a noticeable difference in the small moments throughout our day. Students spend less time looking for a pencil or figuring out where a device belongs and more time getting started on their work. Moving forward, we will continue using these systems during our daily reading, assignments, and technology-based learning activities. They loved watching their designs become actual shirts, but my favorite part was listening to them talk about what they wanted their shirts to represent. Each student had a chance to make something personal, and the finished shirts became a reflection of their own experience and our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThe project became especially meaningful as my students prepared to move on to middle school. Wearing and creating their shirts gave them one more opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, friendships, and the memories they made in elementary school.
