This has been a successful first attempt at hopefully many years of Adaptive Art for our students with diverse learning needs. Your donations have specifically allowed the for our Multiple Disabilities and Intensive Placement Autism classrooms to have access to an elective like so many others are able to take part in. These classrooms typically feature lower student-to-teacher ratio, allowing for personalized attention and tailored instruction that meets each student's unique needs. Our students primarily communicate with Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices (AAC).\r\n\r\n\r\nCurrently, we are creating the blueprint that will hopefully be an option that is district wide.We have begun exploring how to best integrate cross curricular assessments that will provide a deeper learning experience for our students. This means that we are able to provide tailored art lessons that support individual students' goals as outlined in their Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), and Individualized Education Program (IEP). These adapted art sessions are designed to connect seamlessly with the academic curriculum, ensuring that students not only engage in creative activities but also reinforce their learning objectives and therapeutic goals. By integrating art with academic and therapeutic support, this approach fosters a holistic educational experience that addresses the diverse needs of each student. \r\n\r\n\r\nWe greatly appreciate your help in showcasing the skills of our students and help with creating a solution that allows for the building of confidence in our students.
