A huge thank you to you for supporting my classroom, as well as present and future scholars that will pass through my first grade class. You've helped enable students to get new, relevant, engaging books in hand. You've helped me crack the door open that leads to a love for reading. Every action counts and you've lent us a great hand in our journey to academic success. \r\nEach day students are given the time to read to self and our library is now even more inviting with the new additions. Students get to grab a pillow, a stuffed animal, and choose a book to lounge and read for enjoyment in our corner classroom library. I have a particular student who absolutely loves the weather books. In fact, recently each day he dashes to the library and grabs all of them and brings them back to his seat, to read in the moments when he can. I often have to coax him to share them with his classmates so we can all enjoy them! \r\nThank you again for your consistent support!","fullyFundedDate":1757611522346,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-diverse-reading-classroom/9425557/","projectTitle":"Building a Diverse Reading Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Briggs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2975781_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1600378703030","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/molly-warriner"},{"teacherId":10044129,"projectId":9380200,"letterContent":"I am writing to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our DonorsChoose project in support of our Summer Academy. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to provide essential school supplies, student incentives, and snacks that had a tremendous impact on our students' summer learning experience.\r\n\r\nYour donation helped us create a welcoming and engaging learning environment. The school supplies, especially the whiteboards, made daily lessons more interactive and hands-on, encouraging students to actively participate and stay engaged. These seemingly simple tools transformed the way we taught and how our students learned.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful impacts of your support was the ability to provide snacks for our students. Many of our children come to school without having had breakfast or knowing where their next meal is coming from. Your donation helped us fill that gap and ensured that hunger was not a barrier to learning.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the student incentives you helped fund played a key role in encouraging consistent attendance and positive behavior. With fun rewards and recognition, we saw a noticeable improvement in students' attitudes toward school—many of them were excited to come each day, knowing that their efforts were being noticed and celebrated.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our Summer Academy was more than just a place for academic instruction—it became a safe, supportive, and nurturing space where students could thrive. Your generosity directly impacted their growth, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their success. Your support truly made a difference, and we are so grateful to have had you as a partner in education.","fullyFundedDate":1748347615729,"projectUrl":"project/summer-learning-supplies/9380200/","projectTitle":"Summer Learning Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10044129"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_34205","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":603,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":18,"percentBlack":29,"percentWhite":21,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.2,"schoolId":34205,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Skipwith Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Skipwith Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/henrico-county-public-schools/skipwith-elementary-school/34205"}
