These resources have made a tremendous difference in creating a warm, calming, and welcoming environment for my young learners. What may seem like small additions to a room have truly transformed the daily experience of my students, and I am so thankful to be able to give them a space where they can learn, grow, and be themselves.\r\n\r\nThe seat rockers have been one of the most impactful items. Many of my students are naturally active and need opportunities to move while learning. Instead of feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by the need to sit still, they now have a tool that supports their bodies and helps them stay focused. The gentle rocking motion allows them to release energy in a controlled, productive way. I have seen students who typically struggle during lessons become more engaged and confident simply because they feel more comfortable. Having these seat rockers has helped students feel understood and supported, and I am so grateful to everyone who helped make that possible.\r\n\r\nThe light covers have also made a huge difference in the overall tone of our classroom. Traditional fluorescent lights can be harsh and overstimulating, especially for young children. By softening the lighting, the atmosphere has become calmer, more peaceful, and much more inviting. Students often say the classroom feels \"cozy\" now, and I see how the softer light helps them settle their bodies more quickly during independent work, reading time, and transitions. The change in lighting has reduced sensory overload and has helped students feel safe and relaxed throughout the day. This simple shift has contributed so much to the emotional well-being of my class, and I am deeply appreciative of the support that made it possible.\r\n\r\nThe jellyfish lamp has become a favorite among my students. Its calming glow and slow, fluid movements provide the perfect visual anchor for students who need help regulating their emotions. When a child is upset, overwhelmed, or overstimulated, the lamp gives them something peaceful to focus on. Many students now independently request a moment with the jellyfish lamp when they need to calm down, showing how much it has supported their emotional growth and self-awareness. It has created a designated space for peace and reflection, and I am so thankful to have such a powerful tool in the classroom.\r\n\r\nTogether, these items have completely reshaped our learning environment. They help my students feel comfortable, respected, and valued every day. The classroom has become a place where they can be themselves—whether they need movement, softer lighting, or a calming moment to reset. I am truly grateful to the donors who made this possible. Your generosity has not only improved the physical classroom but has also positively impacted the emotional and academic experiences of every student who walks through our door. Thank you for believing in my class and helping create a space where my students can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1755698288070,"projectUrl":"project/peace-please-a-cozy-place-to-pause/9573718/","projectTitle":"Peace, Please: a Cozy Place to Pause","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9116582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753902721014","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9116582"},{"teacherId":9116582,"projectId":9573674,"letterContent":"Primary composition journals have been an incredibly valuable tool in supporting my students' growth as writers, thinkers, and young creators. These journals combine writing lines with a dedicated drawing space, and that simple structure has opened the door for my students to engage with literacy in a way that feels natural, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate. Over time, I have seen clear improvements in their writing confidence, storytelling abilities, fine motor skills, and overall creativity.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful benefits of primary composition journals is that they give students a consistent space to practice writing every day. At the kindergarten and early elementary levels, developing writers need frequent opportunities to form letters, label pictures, write sentences, and attempt spelling based on the sounds they hear. These journals encourage that practice without overwhelming them. The guided lines help them learn correct letter formation and spacing, while the blank space provides freedom for drawing, imagining, and planning. This balanced format supports students at multiple stages of development—some are writing single letters, others are labeling, and others are crafting full sentences or short stories—all within the same journal.\r\n\r\nThe connection between drawing and writing has also proven to be extremely powerful. For young learners, drawing isn't separate from writing—it is a key part of their thinking process. The illustration section of the journal allows them to visualize their ideas before putting them into words. Many students who struggle to start writing will eagerly begin by drawing. As they sketch the characters, setting, or events, they naturally begin explaining their picture. This conversation becomes the foundation for the writing that follows. By the time they begin writing, they already understand what they want to say, which reduces frustration and builds confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1755451869031,"projectUrl":"project/helping-little-writers-grow-their-big-id/9573674/","projectTitle":"Helping Little Writers Grow Their Big Ideas","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9116582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753902721014","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9116582"},{"teacherId":10098789,"projectId":9530876,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations! They enjoy how the colors on the board change and its makes them want to write more and learn to encode! These tools have already transformed learning in my classroom, sparking joy, creativity, and focus for all of my students. Because of your generosity, my students now have engaging and interactive resources that make learning both fun and meaningful.\r\n\r\nThe day our LCD tablets and headphones arrived was filled with excitement. My students' faces lit up as they eagerly gathered around to see the new tools. They could hardly wait to try them, and their enthusiasm reminded me of how powerful it is to place innovative, hands-on learning tools in the hands of children.\r\n\r\nThe LCD tablets have quickly become one of the most loved items in our classroom. My students use them to practice writing letters and numbers, draw pictures, and solve math problems. The ability to erase and try again without wasting paper gives them confidence to take risks and keep improving. For students who sometimes struggle with writing, the tablets have been especially empowering. They no longer feel nervous about making mistakes and instead see every try as a chance to grow. The tablets make learning feel like play, and I have already seen improvement in both their handwriting and creativity.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also made an incredible difference. In the past, students had to share or go without, which often made independent computer time noisy and distracting. Now, each student can listen to their own learning program, story, or activity with focus. The headphones create a calmer classroom environment and allow students to fully immerse themselves in what they are learning. This has been particularly helpful for students who need extra support, as they can concentrate better without background noise.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these tools are helping my students develop important skills like responsibility, focus, and independence. They take pride in using the tablets carefully, making sure the headphones are put away properly, and sharing their creations with classmates. The sense of ownership they feel over these materials is inspiring to watch.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I am beyond grateful. Your generosity has not only provided us with tools for learning, but also with tools for joy. I see my students more motivated, more focused, and more confident because of these donations. They look forward to using the tablets and headphones each day, and they are learning in ways that are fun, engaging, and memorable.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their future. Your kindness has given them opportunities to learn, grow, and dream bigger than before. While these items may seem small, they have made an enormous impact on the health, comfort, and daily life of my students. Thanks to you, our classroom is now a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming space where my students can focus on learning without distraction.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, my students were so curious and excited. I explained that these items would help us keep our classroom healthy, and they were eager to help take responsibility for their environment. It was heartwarming to watch them take pride in wiping down tables, making sure our supplies were put away neatly, and helping each other use the tissues when needed. These moments of care and responsibility remind me that even at a young age, children are capable of learning how to take care of both themselves and their community.\r\n\r\nThe tissues have been especially helpful during cold and allergy season. Instead of interrupting learning to search for tissues, my students now have them readily available. This allows them to quickly take care of themselves and return to lessons without missing important instructional time. It may sound simple, but having something as basic as tissues available gives students comfort and dignity.\r\n\r\nThe antibacterial wipes and spray have also been game-changers. We use them daily to clean tables, wipe down shared supplies, and keep high-touch surfaces fresh. This has greatly helped reduce germs in the classroom and creates a safer environment for everyone. For students, it has become part of their routine—they know that after certain activities, we clean up together. This not only teaches responsibility but also gives them a sense of ownership in caring for their classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1754254253012,"projectUrl":"project/a-healthy-space/9518035/","projectTitle":"A Healthy Space!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9116582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753902721014","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9116582"},{"teacherId":9116582,"projectId":9517918,"letterContent":"I am writing to you with so much gratitude in my heart. This change may seem small, but to my students and me, it has made a world of difference.\r\n\r\nWhen the rug first arrived, my students were practically bouncing with excitement. They immediately noticed the colorful leaf design and eagerly asked if they could find \"their leaf\" to sit on. It was such a heartwarming sight to watch them each choose a leaf to call their own. The joy on their faces showed me how much this simple change in our environment meant to them. They were not just sitting on a rug—they were sitting in their very own special spot, ready to learn, share, and grow together as a classroom family.\r\n\r\nThis new rug has already become the heart of our classroom. We gather there every morning for morning meeting, where we greet one another, share stories, and build the sense of community that is so important in our classroom. Having a clean, comfortable, and beautiful place to sit makes this time feel even more special. My students look forward to starting their day on the rug, and it sets a positive tone for everything that follows.\r\n\r\nIn addition to morning meeting, the rug has become our favorite spot for reading. There is something magical about curling up with a book in a cozy, inviting space. My students are more eager than ever to listen to stories, and they love gathering together on the leaves to read as a group.
