One of our favorite projects so far was making bread during our unit about \"working together.\" Each student took part in a different step—pouring, mixing, kneading, and baking—and the pride on their faces as they tasted their finished product was truly heartwarming. Students had mixed feelings about the taste, ranging from \"delicious\" to \"too hard.\" \r\n\r\nWhen the new materials first arrived, my students were thrilled! They were eager to explore each item, from the oven to the aprons, and couldn't wait to use them for our next recipe. For many of them, cooking is more than just a fun activity—it's an opportunity to build independence, confidence, and communication skills. These resources have made that possible in new and exciting ways.\r\n\r\nNext, we're preparing to use our new tools for our monthly school coffee cart! I teach in a preschool autism classroom and this sensory bin has been such a need for our room so that my students can have sensory needs met. My students have been able to explore different textures. They are exploring measurements using cups and little buckets. They are exploring gross motor movements with scooping and dumping. One month, we put cocoa pebbles and beans in the table to make it look like dirt and the children planted pretend flowers. Imaginary play, cooperative play, learning to wait their turn and to share items has been a huge plus in our classroom while using the sensory bin!
