Your kindness has already made such a difference for my students and for me.\r\n\r\nLast year was one of the hardest years I've had as a teacher. I was supporting students with very big needs, and there were many days that felt heavy. But no matter how hard things got, the one thing that always brought us back together was music. Sitting in our cozy area, making rhythms, singing songs, or simply listening to one another create sounds—it was the place where we could all breathe, reset, and remember that joy was still possible. Music truly became our safe place.\r\n\r\nThis year, with a brand-new group of students, I already see those same magical moments unfolding. The cozy seating you helped provide has become the heart of our morning gatherings. Students are beginning to explore the instruments with curiosity and delight. You should see their faces when we play \"fast and slow\"—or as we say for our Spanish-speaking students, \"rápido y lento.\" Who knew 10 minutes of experimenting with speed could bring so much laughter? And when we sing name songs or lullabies together, I can already see the way music calms their bodies and fills our room with warmth.\r\n\r\nI am endlessly grateful for every single donation—big or small—that made this possible. Because of your generosity, my students don't just have instruments and seating; they have opportunities to laugh together, to calm themselves, to feel connected, and to find joy every single day. Thank you for giving us that gift.","fullyFundedDate":1746756001747,"projectUrl":"project/marching-to-the-beat-of-our-own-drums-/9250059/","projectTitle":"Marching to the Beat of Our Own Drums: #Music-is-for-Everyone","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Amelia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7181601_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746447026370","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7181601"},{"teacherId":9093125,"projectId":9092994,"letterContent":"My students absolutely love this new rug. They are more engaged, and are excited to come to small groups to sit in the chairs. Some shared that they have never gotten the chance to sit in seats like that before. I am so glad I was able to give them an opportunity to do so. The mini white board has been helpful when I am teaching on the carpet. All of my students are able to see what I am teaching, especially in small group, where I had no white board to do this on that was big enough for all them to see. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, I heard a room full of gasps. Their eyes lit up and I knew that they were so grateful to have these things. \r\n\r\n\r\nCurrently, my students are able to use these stools at their desk as well. This is a great incentive for them, and they love to come into the classroom and feel like they are in a safe space. This is exactly what I was going for.
