I made this project in the hopes of offering the kids something your families would not be able to afford on their own and that they could really be excited to receive. Scramble squares have had a significant impact on my classroom by fostering perseverance and increasing student engagement in math. These puzzles offer a fun and interactive way for students to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills, allowing them to stay mentally active after completing assignments. The challenge of rearranging the square pieces encourages students to keep trying, even when the solution isn't immediately clear. This process helps build resilience and a growth mindset, as students learn that persistence leads to success, making them more likely to approach future challenges with confidence.\r\n\r\nMoreover, scramble squares have enhanced the overall atmosphere of my classroom, especially in motivating students to go above and beyond. Some students have even chosen to work on these puzzles during recess, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to overcoming a challenge outside regular class time. The excitement around these puzzles has created a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, where students are eager to take on challenges and celebrate their accomplishments. This engagement not only boosts their confidence but also reinforces the value of hard work and determination in mastering both academic and personal challenges.","fullyFundedDate":1733189240979,"projectUrl":"project/puzzles-squared/8973774/","projectTitle":"Puzzles Squared","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maureen Ambrose","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4295306_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1506131236462","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maureen-ambrose"},{"teacherId":4295306,"projectId":8600885,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to my class project! The game Guess in 10 has had a remarkable impact on my classroom, especially in enhancing students' ability to write smart and relevant questions. By playing this game, students learned how to formulate questions that are specific and purposeful, encouraging them to think critically about the information they already know and what they need to discover. This skill is crucial not only for the game but also for academic tasks like conducting research or gathering information during science experiments. By structuring their questions to narrow down possibilities, students became more intentional in their approach to problem-solving, improving both their questioning techniques and their understanding of the subject matter.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, Guess in 10 has provided an excellent opportunity for students to practice their inferencing skills during science lessons. The game requires players to make educated guesses based on clues, helping students sharpen their ability to draw conclusions from limited information. As they engage in the game, they practice thinking beyond the obvious, making connections between different concepts, and using evidence to support their inferences. This mirrors the process of scientific inquiry, where students must analyze data and hypothesize based on available evidence. By integrating Guess in 10 into our classroom, students have become more confident and skilled at using inference in both their scientific learning and everyday problem-solving.","fullyFundedDate":1731101996695,"projectUrl":"project/guess-in-ten/8600885/","projectTitle":"Guess In Ten!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maureen Ambrose","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4295306_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1506131236462","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maureen-ambrose"},{"teacherId":9086726,"projectId":8800643,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping to fund this project! The pockets gave us a chance to organize and not have to deal with so many papers and books in the desk.\r\nThe headphones have been a huge help as well.
