When the items arrived, the first students to interact with them was my Student Library Advisory Team, a group of students who meet weekly after school to make decisions and help with tasks around the library. These are the students who first suggested we needed more games on the game shelf and ideas for which games I should add. I let them open the boxes and the shrieks of delight were incredible. They all agreed that there were too many games to add all at once, so we spent the first few weeks adding a game or two each week. The chess boards were immediately added to library tables, and the very next morning students were playing them - no advertising necessary!\r\n\r\nDonors, my students aren't fighting over games or having to watch each other play, waiting for their turn. They are not only able to play, but they are able to choose what to play. Before the addition of these new games, students had to resort to whatever games were left on the shelf and now there are more than enough options. I've even taught the students how to play Pass the Pig and those poor pigs get a lot of playtime now!\r\n\r\nMore than anything, I am so grateful to see my students happy and see them interacting with each other. There is cooperation, collaboration, and most of all, fun, in my middle school library, thanks to your generous donation.
