The True Book Fair is an event they look forward to all year. Several students began asking about the fair, wondering what books would be available, as early as August. True Book Fairs generate excitement for books and reading without the potential negative effects of traditional book fairs. Browsing through books, chatting with friends about which books to choose, and making decisions are all valuable life experiences. Since these are free book fairs, where each student chooses the same number of books, the library remains a place for free and equitable access to books.\r\n\r\nYou have helped bring happiness to an entire school (more than 500 students). This was clear by students' gleeful expressions and squeals of delight. Each student in our PK-5 school was able to select two new, beloved books to keep. The timing is perfect to kick off summer reading. This is especially helpful, since many of our students don't visit the public library over the summer.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing my project.
