As we read the books, this encourages students to share ideas about the plot and characters. We talk about different strategies the class can use to help them handle emotions or discuss ways they might support their peers.\r\n\r\nOur third graders love these books and plush toys! They are able to read the books during our Read & Respond daily sessions. They curl up on the carpet with the books and plush toys. Sometimes they discuss the books with peers and share their experiences with different emotions. They especially have fun when they act out the roles of different emotion characters with the plush toys. \r\n\r\nMy team and I thank you again for supporting our project. Our team held our first Glow Day which we used as a cumulative review and celebration of content and standards that have been taught. This was an engaging and motivating way to review content and something students looked forward to that reinforced learning. \r\n\r\nWith your donation, every class on our grade level was able to put on a Glow Day complete with blacklights, signs, decorations, glow sticks, light-up glasses, and games. While reviewing grade-level content, students were also able to decorate our glow rocks to have as a keepsake. Your donation provided us with the supplies we needed to make this event equitable for everyone involved and the students cannot wait until our next one. \r\n\r\nOur third grade team sincerely thanks you for supporting our grant and helping us make learning fun for our students.
