Our classroom became a welcoming landing space where they could settle in, feel safe, and start the year with confidence.\r\n\r\nThis project also allowed for more engaging lessons and collaboration, thanks to flexible seating options and spaces designed for creativity. Students now have room to explore ideas, work together, and tackle challenging problems in ways that suit their learning styles. Plus, our classroom is fully stocked for those little emergencies, so learning never has to stop.\r\n\r\nFrom this returning middle school teacher—and a room full of budding mathematicians—thank you for helping make our classroom a place where curiosity thrives and every student feels ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1748299457252,"projectUrl":"project/from-empty-to-engaging-revitalizing-a-c/9374078/","projectTitle":"From Empty to Engaging: Revitalizing a Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stauffer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10041782_orig.jpg?crop=240,240,x0,y40&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747934341404","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10041782"},{"teacherId":9158237,"projectId":8506132,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kind donations to my project. When I first considered starting this program, I wasn't sure it would be possible—but thanks to your support, we made it happen!\r\n\r\nWith your contributions, we were able to purchase four Spike Prime kits and four extension pack, giving our students the tools they need to explore robotics, coding, and teamwork. Our principal then provided additional funds to purchase this year's FLL challenge board, \"Submerged,\" which has been an exciting addition to our learning experience.\r\n\r\nWhat makes this journey even more special is the involvement of 3-5 high school mentors from Western who dedicate their time to guiding and inspiring our students during our weekly after-school meetings. Additionally, I offer a \"Sting\" option during the school day, allowing students who cannot attend after-school sessions to stay engaged and contribute to the team's success.\r\n\r\nOur goal is to host an ACPS middle school robotics competition at the end of the school year at one of the high schools. Looking ahead, we are hopeful that next year we will be able to compete in an official FLL competition. None of this would have been possible without your kindness and generosity, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for believing in our students and helping us bring this program to life. It was a special project for my students and your help and support was so appreciated! The students were so excited to adopt an escargot and enjoyed coming up with stories about their escargot and writing in the notebooks you provided. They also created crafts with the construction paper you donated and loved the stuffed animal escargot that you provided. The lesson let the French come alive for my students and will be a project they will remember for a long time.\r\n\r\nI am submitting some photos to show you the escargots and the materials in use. The students loved naming their escargots and having a \"baby\" to look after and were very creative in their descriptions. We took pictures of the escargots in different locations and talked about them in class. We wrote baby books for them and wrote letters to the Grand Escargot for advice about problems we were having as parents.
