We use them during reading time, small-group discussions, and independent work. We recently worked on a multi-day independent assignment, and students spread out and stayed focused longer than usual. The relaxed seating encourages thoughtful, quiet conversations; and deeper engagement during independent work.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the floor cushions, their reaction was immediate excitement. They were eager to try them out, and have been spending their positive reinforcement \"B Bucks\" to purchase cushions. The cushions instantly made the classroom feel more welcoming and student-centered, and many students said they felt calmer and more comfortable while working.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our classroom feels like a space designed with students in mind. The floor cushions have given students choice, comfort, and a sense of ownership over their learning environment. Your support has helped create a classroom where students feel relaxed, valued, and ready to learn—and we are incredibly grateful for that.","fullyFundedDate":1757554975345,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-from-the-ground-up-floor-seati/9681445/","projectTitle":"Comfort from the Ground Up: Floor Seating for Middle Schoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Albertson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/albertson"},{"teacherId":618463,"projectId":8930462,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping our classroom to get a color printer. It's been super-useful for students to get materials that they need quickly. Just today, we were able to quickly and easily print recipes that the students are cooking from. \r\n\r\nStudents love seeing their work printed in color; having a tangible product allows students to share their work with their peers and wider school community. Last week, 8th grade students created posters about their ideas for a 28th Amendment. Some chose to use art materials, while others decided to use the graphic design software Canva to create their posters. We were able to print the Canva posters to share in the hallway. \r\n\r\nHaving a color printer also allows me to also print interesting and relevant graphics that support and extend learning. For example, as students researched why different groups of people moved West in the U.S. in the mid-1800s, I was able to print a color poster to show what a dollar was worth in the mid-1800s, a question which many students asked about as they conducted their research. It was nice to be able to have a graphic to answer this popular query. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1732737317525,"projectUrl":"project/bring-ideas-to-life-help-us-print-in-f/8930462/","projectTitle":"Bring Ideas to Life!
