It is remarkable how a few intentional resources can completely shift the energy of a learning environment. Since your donations arrived, our writing block has been transformed into a highlight of the school day.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe students have been using their writing folders daily, and the impact on our classroom management has been immediate. These folders do more than just keep us organized; they are colorful, fun, and filled with \"friendly tips\" that give students the confidence to write independently.\r\n\r\nTo guide our skills, the mentor texts you provided have become the backbone of our mini-lessons. Whether we are exploring point of view, identifying a main idea, or crafting a persuasive opinion piece, these books provide the perfect professional examples for my young writers to emulate.\r\n\r\nOne of the most joyful changes has been the shift away from \"boring\" white paper. My students have officially fallen in love with the pastel lined paper. They've shared that the bright colors make writing feel more like an adventure and less like a chore.\r\n\r\nTo complement this, we recently introduced gel pens to the class. The students are thrilled to use them for editing and revising; they provide a fun, vibrant way to make notes and \"brighten up\" their drafts as they work to polish their voice.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first unveiled, the room was filled with genuine excitement. The students were so eager to have different options for their work, and that enthusiasm hasn't faded. Seeing their faces light up reminded me how much it means to a child to know that their education is supported by people like you.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to write across the entire curriculum. These supplies will be in constant use as we pivot between narratives, opinion pieces, and \"quick writes\" to reflect on what we've learned in other subjects. Furthermore, because these mentor texts are now a permanent part of our classroom library, they will continue to inspire students for years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom and for making our writing journey so much brighter.","fullyFundedDate":1763145510659,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-authors-through-writing/9565303/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Authors Through Writing Workshops!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chapdelaine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4507019_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1498241910928","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-chapdelaine"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35298","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":378,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":92,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.0,"schoolId":35298,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rutland Town School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rutland Town School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/vermont/rutland-central-su-37/rutland-town-school/35298"}
