All year, we have been trying to show work and compare different work samples. We have recently had some great successes! We solved a story problem and then students worked together to represent the data. As we compared graphs, learners noticed that the graphs counted the \"squares\" differently, by one unit per \"square\" on the graph paper on the y axis and the graph and by 2 \"squares\" for every unit, which made the angles of the lines look a bit different. Further investigation caused the group members to realize that they labeled their axes incorrectly (so we did a little old fashioned cut and paste). These materials helped us \"see\" differences and learn that it is OK to make mistakes! This was a HUGE win!!! \r\n\r\nThroughout the semester, materials helped us practice plotting points, graphing slope, and so much more.
