The calming environment that I have been able to create in my classroom affects both myself and my students in a positive way.\r\nKindergartners are very excitable and have high energy. Being intentional with how I've put my classroom together has help to control that narrative in a very positive way. I am a teacher who likes to bring the fun, and allow for my students to be excited, but having these things in my classroom help to calm the environment back down in a timely manner in order to transition to the next activity. By using these books, students are developing critical reading skills and gaining confidence in navigating nonfiction texts.
