It is a project based learning option for any student who would like to join. They have a series of rubrics to direct them and of course support from the teachers. And now that support extends to you!! The sweatshirts will be used to distinguish the students in this program and as a final reward for success and completion! \r\n\r\nThe markers, sharpies, and other creative learning items are for all the fun, hands-on projects we do in our classroom. From culture project in geography to constitution folder, flow notes and mapping success, we use them almost everyday! Both student and teacher are able to differentiate learning strategies through the use of color on the white boards on the walls and the individual whiteboard throughout the class. We practice concepts, check for understanding and clarify ideas and learning targets. It has been an exceptional and colorful incentive for learning. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your amazing generosity and continued support for the enrichment. And creative education of tomorrow's leaders.","fullyFundedDate":1755741394089,"projectUrl":"project/create-with-color-and-reward-big/9540104/","projectTitle":"Create With Color and Reward Big","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pederson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6009521_orig.jpg?crop=407,407,x0,y55&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1552348064690","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/miss-shaunna"},{"teacherId":6009521,"projectId":9044767,"letterContent":"My classroom is colorful and has more movement because of your contributions! The fidget bands are a hit and the students barter to trade chairs often to get a chair with a band on it! It is fun to see the interaction and the focus return for many who ordinarily struggle. \r\nWe have also been able to have more exciting reviews with the dry erase markers because the lap boards can now be color coded for a more in-debt study focus. We can differentiate and see who really has the concepts and who still needs another go at it. It has been so positive to see the difference made with such a simple addition to our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1743090899105,"projectUrl":"project/colorful-creative-and-movement/9044767/","projectTitle":"Colorful, Creative, and Movement","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pederson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6009521_orig.jpg?crop=407,407,x0,y55&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1552348064690","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/miss-shaunna"},{"teacherId":6009521,"projectId":8558973,"letterContent":"You have made this years interactive projects, enhancement activities and review game learning the most fun for the students and easy prep and transition times for me as a teacher! Without you we would be struggling to say the least and cutting out many of these activities. Thank you seems small compared to how much our hearts want you to know we feel it!\r\n\r\nThe students LOVED the Columbian Exchange activity that we did in class and they used the gloves, ziplock bags and markers for this activity. We created six sections of class (two teams) of three regions each. The \"old world\" (Europe), \"new world\" (north and central Americas) and Africa. We then simulate the Columbian Exchange using trading cards and bowls of food items. We choose merchants to trade, pirates to inhibit the trade and \"accountants\" in the regions to keep track of the trade. We then had \"food handlers\" to make sure the food items were traded in a sanitary fashion (thus, the gloves) and each region had a specific amount of items to acquire in order to become the top economic country. the kids did so good and they easily drew the parallels to the real version of the story. They adapted to overcome problems (pirates and lack of goods) and even months later could recall the important factors of the trade! We also did a review with whiteboards at the end of the activity (using the expo markers) to check for understanding and make connections. They especially loved that all the ingredients combined made trail mix and they all got a bag (ziplock bags) at the end of class! \r\n\r\nThis is just one awesome example of how your donations have enhanced the learning in our classes. We also have used the candy to incentivize class participation, the fidget toys to help our students focus, the Clorox wipes to ensure a safe and sanitary classroom environment before and after activities, The glue to build our interactive notebooks and booklets for enhanced learning, and the mesh zipper pouches to store our country/continent puzzles in so no pieces go missing when we use them for reviews and supplemental memory learning. \r\n\r\nBecause we are a middle school it is difficult to implement an honors class. So we have created a program called History for U.S. to challenge and enhance the learning of our students at an honors level. This program allows students to dig deeper and achieve higher levels of learning through project based learning. The sweatshirts are to both designate these individuals, reward them for their commitment and advertise the program for the next school year! Such a simple item has made such a huge impact on these learners! We have students email us years later talking about the program and sending us pictures of them in the sweatshirt! \r\n\r\nFinally, I was hesitant to ask for the stamps because I teach middle school students and I was worried they would think a stamp on their paper was childish or silly. The response was overwhelmingly the opposite!!! They loved them! They compared stamps and pointed out the little details on them and were buzzing about which ones they received! It was so fun to have a colorful way to give positive feedback! \r\n\r\nThank you again in the most sincere and deeply grateful way for making all this fun possible for these amazing students!","fullyFundedDate":1731096465181,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials/8558973/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pederson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6009521_orig.jpg?crop=407,407,x0,y55&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1552348064690","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/miss-shaunna"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122317","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":933,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":12,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"8 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.7,"schoolId":122317,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Crimson Cliffs Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Crimson Cliffs Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/washington-county-school-district/crimson-cliffs-middle-school/122317"}
