Your kindness has already made a meaningful impact on our mentors and their buddies.\r\n\r\nWe've been integrating the new materials into our weekly mentor sessions, and they have added so much excitement and connection to our time together. The games have helped mentors and buddies build teamwork and communication skills, while the books have sparked great conversations and shared reading moments. The craft supplies have also opened the door for creative projects that students love exploring together.\r\n\r\nThe kids have been so excited to use the new materials to get to know their buddies and to spend meaningful time with them. Their reactions when they first saw everything were priceless—lots of smiles, eager questions, and several students asking if we could start using the materials right away!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are thrilled to begin monthly activities with our mentors and their buddies that will incorporate the materials you provided. These resources will help us deepen relationships, encourage creativity, and support social and emotional growth throughout the year.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for believing in our program. You've given our students not just supplies, but opportunities for connection, confidence, and joy. We are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1755747911614,"projectUrl":"project/lion-leaders-new-mentor-program/9602404/","projectTitle":"Lion Leaders- New Mentor Program","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Boman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10180181_orig.jpg?crop=2128,2128,x1366,y544&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755282411162","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10180181"},{"teacherId":10182597,"projectId":9612280,"letterContent":"I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for funding our classroom project! The noise-cancelling headphones and heart and brain model kit have already made such a difference in our daily learning.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have become an incredible tool for helping my students focus during independent work and small-group reading time. Many of my students struggle to tune out background noise, and the headphones have allowed them to feel calmer and more in control of their learning space. One quiet moment that stood out was seeing a student who often has trouble concentrating settle in, put on the headphones, and proudly finish an entire writing assignment—something that had been a challenge before!\r\n\r\nThe heart and brain model kit has sparked so much curiosity. We used it during our science unit on the human body, and my students were fascinated to see how the organs fit and function together. There were so many \"wow!\" moments as they passed around the models and made connections to what they feel in their own bodies when their heart beats faster or when they have to \"think hard.\"\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were so excited—they could hardly wait to open the boxes and see what was inside! They immediately began asking questions about how the headphones worked and when they could try them, and they handled the model pieces with awe and care. It was such a joyful reminder of how new tools can reignite motivation and wonder.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll continue to use the headphones during our literacy centers and assessments to support focus and confidence. In science, my students are moving into a project where they'll create posters explaining how the brain and heart work together to keep the body alive. The model kit is helping them visualize those connections and deepen their understanding.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given my students not just materials—but focus, excitement, and a renewed love of learning. Thank you for believing in our classroom and helping make these meaningful moments possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755719226760,"projectUrl":"project/all-hands-on-deck/9612280/","projectTitle":"All Hands on Deck","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Simon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10182597"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33015","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":596,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":10,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.8,"schoolId":33015,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Leo J Muir Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Leo J Muir Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/davis-school-district/leo-j-muir-elementary-school/33015"}
