Her class met right after lunch, and she often found herself struggling to stay awake and focused while taking notes. When I mentioned her idea to the rest of the class, several students quickly agreed that a standing desk would be helpful—especially on those days when sitting still felt extra challenging.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous support, that wish became a reality. Last spring, our classroom received three brand-new standing desks. While they arrived close to the end of the school year and only saw a little use at first, they are now making a real difference for a new group of students.\r\n\r\nThis year, students are excited to use the standing desks both in class and even out in the hallway when they need a change of pace. Some enjoy taking notes while standing, while others use the desks as a way to stay more alert and engaged during lessons. Already, I can see how having this flexible option helps them take ownership of their learning and find what works best for them.\r\n\r\nYour support gave my students something simple but powerful: choice. Thank you for helping make our classroom a place where students feel comfortable, supported, and able to learn in the way that fits them best.","fullyFundedDate":1744033005218,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-stay-engaged-with-stand/9057782/","projectTitle":"Help My Students Stay Engaged With Standing Desks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Brooks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9878287_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754147783438","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9878287"},{"teacherId":9871939,"projectId":9002730,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your support in my classroom. The day that my package arrived from Donors Choose, my students were wild with excitement. Knowing that someone who does not even know them is supporting their learning really hit home with them. My students are about 1 week away from the AP Statistics test, and have scored higher on their mock test than any of my students since COVID. I am excited and hopeful for how they will perform on the big exam.\r\nWe performed an inference test to determine whether Chips Ahoy have more chocolate chips than store brand cookies. (They don't, but the kids still voted for the Chips Ahoy taste). We used a Chi Square Goodness of Fit test to determine whether or not the company that makes M&M's is correct in their advertised color distribution, and tomorrow we are playing some card games to review probability. This is all possible because of your help.\r\nYour donation to my classroom has definitely made \"Statistics a Little Sweeter\".
