The pictures represent some of the things we've already done thanks to your thoughtfulness. We learned about the origin of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, and created our own balloon floats. We used materials to create our own ornaments for Christmas. We were able to paint them and personalize them to each child. Many of these students excitedly shared that they had never done anything like this before. You are helping me create core memories well tapping into the creative side of their giftedness. The supplies that you have donated have been used in a variety of ways. We have smushed out squishy circles and we have stretched out tubes to help us hear individual sounds in words, we have explored non fiction books to engage students in the world around them, we have used \"letter candies\" to build words in literacy stations, and we have played with hands on materials to make us fall in love with learning letters and sounds. Every day we talk about the importance of reading so that students can one day learn about ANYTHING. After all, learning to read can open our minds and hearts. My goal each day is to create a classroom where students feel safe to take chances and excited to learn. I want them to want to be at school and believe in their ability to learn challenging things. Thank you for helping me to make this task more attainable for my young learners by purchasing hands on learning materials that we can put to good use in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1757679563320,"projectUrl":"project/empowered-readers-engaged-minds/9482934/","projectTitle":"Empowered Readers, Engaged Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tandy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10086292"},{"teacherId":5061256,"projectId":9169367,"letterContent":"Opening a brand new school is exciting and being able to create a welcoming environment for an elementary school library is an honor. The games, materials, and resources are allowing me to host open library time every morning where students have the opportunity to start their day on a positive note by interacting with peers, finding new books, and participating in a variety of activities.\r\nThe bins have made library days convenient for teachers. They are able to collect books in the morning allowing for smoother transition to library time and efficient routines for getting new books.\r\nOn behalf of our entire school community, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous support in helping us start this school year strong in our new building.\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your belief in our mission and your investment in our students' success.
