One of the biggest hits was the laminator. After being taught how to safely use it, students individually laminated their own Carnegie problem-solving model worksheets, which they now reuse during each lesson. Watching students proudly laminate their own materials was incredibly empowering—they took ownership of their learning tools and immediately understood that math is something they work through, not something they get \"one chance\" to finish.\r\n\r\nAnother game-changing moment came when students each received their own erasable pencil. In my math classroom, writing in pen is not allowed, and this shift has completely changed student behavior and mindset. When students realized they could revise their thinking freely without fear of permanent mistakes, the energy in the room felt like Christmas morning. Students were excited, more willing to try, and far less anxious about being wrong. This simple tool reinforced a powerful message: mistakes are part of learning.\r\n\r\nThese resources are now used daily across math class, WIN time, and tutoring sessions. Headphones support students working on I-Ready Pathways and Carnegie MATHia, including Special Education and 504 students who rely on text-to-speech. Manipulatives and laminated materials are central to our small-group work and tutoring as we prepare for STAAR. Because of your generosity, my students are more confident, engaged, and empowered—approaching math as thinkers, problem solvers, and learners who are not afraid to try.","fullyFundedDate":1757971847590,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-hands-on-tools-and-hope-for/9713179/","projectTitle":"Headphones, Hands-On Tools, and Hope for Math Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Evans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10222507_orig.jpg?crop=809,809,x48,y108&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758003369842","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10222507"},{"teacherId":9722324,"projectId":9525155,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support for my project, Reeds for Young Woodwinds: Keeping the Music Going.
