They often find themselves in situations where they don't have anyone to tease them about their appearance or feel refreshed after a workout or a game. Sometimes, they simply forget to put on deodorant or brush their hair, which can lead to feelings of self-consciousness. It was heartwarming to see that someone cared enough to bring them a brush or comb, providing them with a simple yet meaningful gesture of support. These gifts not only help them look more presentable but also boost their confidence and self-esteem, making them feel valued and appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1722947134311,"projectUrl":"project/stay-fresh-hygiene-for-students-in-pe/8543656/","projectTitle":"Stay Fresh: Hygiene for Students in PE","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ross","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9087184_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690945268408","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9087184"},{"teacherId":9642680,"projectId":8615613,"letterContent":"The resources from this project have turned our classroom into a high-energy \"hub\" of collaboration. We recently used the Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pads and Colorations Markers for a \"Gallery Walk\" brainstorming session. Students worked in small groups to map out historical timelines, sticking their large yellow sheets around the room. I used the portable voice amplifier to facilitate the transition between stations, ensuring that every student could hear the instructions over the buzz of productive conversation without me having to strain my voice. It has made our \"interactive and hands-on\" goals a daily reality.\r\n\r\nThe reaction was pure magic! When the students saw the Classroom Mailbox being set up, they finally have a \"professional\" place to receive their graded work and personal notes. However, the biggest \"wow\" moment came from the Ultimate Variety Snack Packs and the vibrant art supplies. Seeing the Paper Mate Flair Pens and the colorful wall clock made them feel like they were in a space that was curated specifically for their success. They felt seen, valued, and genuinely excited to get to work.\r\n\r\nNow that we have the foundations of organization and engagement in place, our next big step is our \"Student-Led Seminar\" series. Students will be using the Expo Dry Erase Markers and Easel Pads to present their independent research projects. With our Lysol and Whiteboard Towelettes ready for clean-up and snacks ready to celebrate a job well done. We are moving into a phase of the year where the students truly take ownership of the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1733254797021,"projectUrl":"project/7th-grade-starter-kit/8615613/","projectTitle":"7th Grade Starter Kit","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bradfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9642680_orig.jpg?crop=1944,1944,x0,y324&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723773546225","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9642680"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108443","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":395,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.4,"schoolId":108443,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about KIPP Academy West Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"KIPP Academy West Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/kipp-academy-west/108443"}
