Your thoughtful contributions—including the cozy reading pillows, new bookcases for our textbooks and class library, and the rolling cart for organizing craft supplies—have truly transformed our learning space.\r\n\r\nThe reading pillows have already become a favorite among students, creating a comfortable and inviting corner where they can relax and dive into books. The new bookcases have brought order and accessibility to our growing library, allowing students to explore reading materials more easily. And the craft cart has made a huge difference in keeping our creative supplies organized and within reach during art and project time.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only improved the functionality of our classroom, but also boosted student engagement and excitement about learning. It's clear that every item you provided was chosen with care and a genuine understanding of what helps a classroom thrive.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity. Your support means more than words can express. At our low-income school, access to high-quality literature is not always guaranteed, and your gift has opened the door for every student in our classrooms to hold their own copy of these powerful, imaginative stories.\r\n\r\nThese novels will not only strengthen our students' reading skills, but also spark meaningful conversations about identity, kindness, and resilience. Books like Stargirl inspire students to embrace individuality, while Flora & Ulysses nurtures creativity and curiosity. For many of our students, this will be their first time owning or deeply engaging with a novel of their own. It was a little more than I wanted to make it, but everything has already had such a great impact on the kids. I waited till a Friday afternoon to start decorating and moving the room around. My kids have had 3 other teachers this year alone, so I am the 4th, but luckily I've been at this school for 4 years and have also done full time subbing for the PE/Art teacher as well. I spent several hours Friday and that Saturday completely remodeling the classroom. I changed up the seating, moved furniture, and opened up the space and added a reading corner. \r\n\r\nOn Monday morning the kids came in and were stunned and shocked, so much that they were speechless! They are loving the beach theme. I even play ocean sounds/videos during quite time for a calm and relaxing experience. In the last 2 weeks their behavior and learning has picked up and they have almost done a complete 180. They love the Beach balls as I use them as a tool to throw it to them to answer questions out loud in class and now all of them want to participate and answer questions. \r\n\r\nThey are staying more organized and on task. The other teachers all have commented on how well they are doing and staying focused and when they walk by how they are working and I can leave the classroom door open all day long now! The kids are loving the soccer balls for recess as well. That is one of their favorite things to do and the kids have been having to bring their own and sometimes they forget so now that I have 5 for the whole class they all can enjoy playing with them.\r\n\r\nThank you again so much! Please feel free make an appt at any time to come by and tour our facility! We always love having visitors and even volunteers who want to help out in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1743176526782,"projectUrl":"project/i-want-to-make-the-last-9-weeks-fun/9157842/","projectTitle":"I Want to Make the Last 9 Weeks Fun!!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stefanie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9966943_orig.jpg?crop=2544,2544,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741733621856","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9966943"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_123928","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":147,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 10","studentTeacherRatio":"13.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":123928,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kingsland School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kingsland School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/kingsland-school/123928"}
