My older students, especially in 3rd and 4th grade, have been using them during hands-on lessons focused on rhythm, chord progressions, and ensemble playing. One of my favorite classroom moments happened when students realized they could play a recognizable song after learning just a few simple chords. The pride and confidence on their faces was incredible. Many students who were hesitant in music class before have stepped forward, taken leadership roles, and shown real creativity in how they play and collaborate with others. It has been amazing to watch them realize they are capable of more than they thought—I truly have future rockstars in the making.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the ukuleles, their reaction was pure excitement. There were gasps, huge smiles, and so many eager questions about when they would get to play. They immediately understood that this was something special, and they have treated the instruments with care and enthusiasm. For many of them, it was their first time ever holding or playing a real string instrument.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students are continuing to build their musicianship through chord transitions, strumming patterns, and group performances. We are working toward playing full songs together as a class while also giving students opportunities to create their own chord patterns and simple compositions. These ukuleles are opening the door to lifelong music-making, teamwork, and confidence, and we are so grateful to our donors for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1769178074035,"projectUrl":"project/ukuleles-for-our-brand-new-music-progra/9875022/","projectTitle":"Ukulele’s for Our Brand New Music Program!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barnes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10341578_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762308040144","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10341578"},{"teacherId":10036546,"projectId":9359035,"letterContent":"Technology in our classroom isn't just about using devices—it's about creating an environment where every student can learn in a way that works best for them.\r\nWith tools like headphones, students are able to block out distractions and fully concentrate on their own learning. This is especially important because each student is working at their own level using adaptive programs like Lexia. The program adjusts to their individual needs, so no two students are necessarily doing the same activity at the same time.\r\nWithout headphones, the classroom would quickly become overwhelming. Imagine 16 computers all playing different instructions, sounds, and feedback at once—it would be distracting and make it much harder for students to stay focused. That kind of environment can lead to frustration and a loss of motivation.\r\nBy using headphones alongside adaptive technology, students can stay engaged, work independently, and build confidence as they progress at their own pace. This helps create a calmer, more productive classroom where every student has the opportunity to succeed. \r\nWe also want to extend our sincere gratitude for the art and cleaning supplies you provided. The crayons, markers, chisel-tip Sharpies, and Clorox wipes make a meaningful difference in our classroom each day.\r\nYour generosity helps keep our space creative, engaging, and safe for all of our students.\r\nThank you from the bottom of our hearts.","fullyFundedDate":1747772250375,"projectUrl":"project/hear-it-read-it-draw-it/9359035/","projectTitle":"Hear It, Read It, Draw It","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Meza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10036546_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747280922640","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10036546"},{"teacherId":9335445,"projectId":9223248,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our classroom has experienced a meaningful transformation. The resources you provided have not only enhanced daily instruction but have also given my students opportunities to engage with their learning in ways that foster both focus and creativity. These new materials have quickly become an essential part of our routine and have helped build an environment where students feel excited and supported.\r\n\r\nThe impact reaches beyond just one lesson. The resources have helped create a calmer, more inclusive environment for everyone. Students who might otherwise feel restless during testing or extended work periods now have the tools to self-regulate, while those who prefer a more traditional workspace are able to focus without distractions. It has fostered a classroom culture of respect for different learning needs and has encouraged students to be more understanding of one another.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given my students more than just physical items—it has given them a sense of being seen and valued. They recognize that people beyond our classroom believe in their potential, and that motivation shows in their work every day.
