They have come in handy when students need an extra pair of scissors and especially glue sticks! We go through glue sticks like crazy in class, so its always useful to have some extra ones on hand! \r\n\r\nThe illustrated Harry Potter books have been amazing! They really bring new life to the story. Sometimes student struggle to be able to imagine what certain settings or characters look like, so having the illustrated versions have really been a big help. These non-fiction books have been some favorites in the classroom. I even have past students wanting to borrow them. The students have really enjoyed getting to explore new ideas and worlds. They have been able to take on new interest and really immerse themselves in some of those topics. The graphic novels have really helped them get into reading. These really did serve as a stepping stone for some of them. \r\n\r\nThey have started to branch out and have been reading either different kinds of graphic novels with similar topics and some that are completely different. Others have decided to read the full chapter book versions of them. I have some that have even asked me to get more books relating to those topics. \r\n\r\nIt has been great getting to see students really enjoy themselves getting lost in a book.
