Students rotate through stations that include budgeting games, trivia, and board games that reflect real-world money decisions. Games like LEGACY!, Making Change, and Budget allow students to practice managing income, expenses, saving, and decision-making in a way that feels meaningful and fun. The fake checkbooks and prop money have helped bring these lessons to life—students now understand concepts like deposits, balances, and tracking spending because they are \"doing\" the math, not just hearing about it.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless. They immediately gravitated toward the games, especially the Underrepresented Set for Teens and Mexico-opoly. Many students shared that they felt seen and included when playing games like UNO Play with Pride and Rainbow Quest, and it sparked important conversations about identity, community, and respect. Students who are often hesitant to participate were suddenly leading groups, explaining rules, and cheering each other on.\r\n\r\nThe dry erase tools, reusable pockets, and notebooks have become an essential part of our daily routines. Students use them to solve budgeting problems, track spending scenarios, and reflect on financial choices—then erase and try again without fear of making mistakes. This has encouraged risk-taking, problem-solving, and confidence, especially for students who struggle with traditional paper-and-pencil tasks.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include a classroom-wide financial literacy project where students will apply what they've learned to create a mock life scenario—choosing careers, managing paychecks, budgeting for housing, and making financial decisions using the games, posters, flashcards, and money tools you provided. These resources will continue to support learning all year long and for future classes as well.\r\n\r\nBy supporting this project, you gave our students more than supplies—you gave them skills, representation, and joyful learning experiences they will carry with them beyond the classroom. Thank you for investing in their futures.","fullyFundedDate":1758815296041,"projectUrl":"project/financial-literacy-fun/9715812/","projectTitle":"Financial Literacy Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jasso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9634069_orig.png?crop=494,494,x968,y453&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757943383329","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9634069"},{"teacherId":7861714,"projectId":9498972,"letterContent":"Here's a polished thank-you message you can send to donors:\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n**Dear Donors,**\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous contribution toward purchasing copies of *Chasing Lincoln's Killer* for my 8th-grade ESL students.
