ABC & 123\" materials. We have already put the resources to work during small-group literacy and math centers. One of my favorite moments happened during our writing station—several students proudly traced their letters and numbers, then held up their boards saying, \"Look, I can write it by myself!\" These tools are helping them build essential fine-motor strength while giving them the confidence to practice early writing skills independently.\r\n\r\nThe day the materials arrived felt like a celebration. My students' eyes lit up as they explored the bright, hands-on activities. Many of them immediately began matching letters, tracing shapes, and practicing number formation. Their enthusiasm has transformed our classroom routines, and these materials have become a daily part of our learning.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our alphabet and number lessons, these resources will support students in moving from tracing to writing more independently. We will be using them for name-writing practice, number recognition games, and beginning sentence work as the year progresses. Thanks to you, my students not only have the tools to learn—they also have the confidence and joy that come from feeling capable. We are truly grateful for your kindness and belief in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1725295196274,"projectUrl":"project/i-can-write-abc-123/8704093/","projectTitle":"I Can Write! These tools have already opened the door for my students to explore engineering, creativity, and teamwork in exciting new ways.\r\n\r\nOur first project was a \"Create a Mask or Costume\" design challenge. Students worked individually and in small groups to imagine and build wearable creations out of cardboard. With the Makedo tools, they were able to safely cut, connect, and shape their designs, turning ordinary cardboard into superheroes, animals, and imaginative characters. It was incredible to see their collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity shine as they proudly showed off their finished creations.\r\n\r\nWhen the kits first arrived, the students' reactions were priceless. Many had never seen tools like these before and were amazed that they could safely cut, connect, and build with cardboard. Their excitement filled the room, and I heard several say, \"We can make anything we imagine!\" That sense of wonder and possibility is exactly what I hoped these resources would spark.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next big challenge will be to design \"dream playground structures.\" Students will work together to plan and build towers, slides, and climbing structures, using their engineering skills to make creative designs strong and stable. Later this semester, we'll also explore a STEM challenge where students create \"mini houses\" that can withstand wind from a fan. These projects are just the beginning—the Makedo kits will continue to fuel creativity in our Makerspace all year long.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made an impact. Thank you for believing in the power of hands-on learning and for giving my students the opportunity to imagine, create, and discover.","fullyFundedDate":1746597463637,"projectUrl":"project/cardboard-creators-building-big-dreams/9248051/","projectTitle":"Cardboard Creators: Building Big Dreams With MakeDo!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ochoa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2343593"},{"teacherId":3279343,"projectId":8895056,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for providing the resources for our classroom project. The student's eyes were as big as saucers when they saw the headphones. They couldn't wait to use them. Now each student has his/her own set with their name on it without worrying about germs or other contaminants.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your funding of our project.
