Having an individual copy for each student has already made such a difference. My students love receiving a new issue and discovering what we are going to learn about next. The articles give us an engaging way to explore current events, science, history, and topics happening in the world around them. \r\nWe are also able to use Scholastic News to practice so many of the reading skills we work on throughout fourth grade. Students practice identifying main ideas and supporting details, using text evidence, learning new vocabulary, making inferences, and discussing what they have read with their classmates. I especially love that the articles encourage curiosity and often lead to some of our best classroom conversations. \r\nYour generosity has given my students access to meaningful, high-interest reading materials that we will use throughout the entire school year.
