Thank goodness for video cameras on buses. \r\nThey learned to draw eyes on a face and use the small flannel pieces of clothes to dress themselves using their favorite colors. As an assistant principal at an early childhood center, I often work with students who are having a hard time managing their emotions—especially when they've struggled to meet our campus expectations to \"Be Safe and Be Kind,\" part of our PBIS framework.\r\n\r\nThe calming toys and fidgets provided through your generosity have been incredibly effective in helping students de-escalate and regain control of their emotions. Once they're calm and ready to reflect, I use the books to guide conversations about the emotions they experienced and reinforce the positive behaviors we want to see in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThis project has allowed me to support our youngest learners in developing critical social-emotional skills, which are foundational for their success in school and beyond. The parents were so appreciative because they felt they now had a way to help daily in their own child's education.
