The resources are used on a regular basis and students have been having a great time creating and completing different tasks with the stem kits. The students are able to use STEM twice a week, and sometimes more, if we have completed the content work for the week. The students are able to choose a STEM kit and have one day of free choice. This means that they can choose to use all their creativity to create something and then they are given time to explain their creation to the group. On the second day, students must choose a task card and complete the task with whatever stem kit they with whatever stem kit they think they will need to accomplish their task.\r\n The students were thrilled when the saw the materials. They love to work with STEM and were very excited to use the new materials. In the near future, I would like to extend STEM to include more collaboration between my three math grade levels and I would like to set up some competitions within the classes. I would also like to attend more professional development on STEM so that I can provide more challenges for my students. Overall, I have the materials have had a big impact on my students' learning and problem solving/critical thinking skills. I have also been using it with 1st and 2nd graders in an after school program. These materials have reached so many students and I want to assure you that we treasure and take care of them really well. The emphasis in my class is that we want future students to be able to have these materials to use so we must take care of them. My students and I thank you so my for your donations and are very grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1726791925134,"projectUrl":"project/building-brain-power-through-stem/8660454/","projectTitle":"Building Brain Power Through STEM!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9074042_orig.png?crop=438,438,x283,y13&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724422047011","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9074042"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8156","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":212,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":93,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":69.2,"schoolId":8156,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about San Perlita School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"San Perlita School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/san-perlita-independent-school-district/san-perlita-school/8156"}
