We read a chapter each day, and it has been such a joy to see their excitement grow. Many students follow along so closely that if they lose their place, they immediately ask where we are so they can jump back in-they don't want to miss a single detail!\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive and engaging. Before we begin, I introduce the day's skills, such as analyzing plot, exploring how the setting influences the story, understanding character relationships, or identifying theme. I use an anchor chart to introduce the skill and then guide students through a slide deck with images from the text. As I read aloud, I model my thinking with \"think-alouds,\" and students frequently turn and talk with a partner to share their ideas. \r\n\r\nStudents are also parting writing responses and completing plot diagrams, which helps them connect their discussions to written evidence. These activities wouldn't have been possible without your donations. \r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my students are engaged, motivated, and become stronger readers while enjoying a classic story together. The students used the dry erase boards with primary spaced lines and the ones with pre-written letter tracing aids during our handwriting practice sessions every day. One special moment was when the children took part in a \"letter tracing challenge,\" eagerly tracing letters on their own boards. They traced, erased, and traced again, gaining confidence with each attempt.\r\nWhen the students first saw the bright boards and markers, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. Many immediately wanted to hold the markers and try tracing letters themselves. It was wonderful to watch their pride grow as they successfully formed letters for the first time. The ability to erase mistakes and try again helped them feel comfortable and motivated to keep practicing.\r\nThanks to your generous support, by the end of the year, the students had progressed to forming simple words using these materials. They combined letter sounds with writing practice through fun, hands-on activities that helped build their early literacy skills. Many kids could not afford to bring headphones and being able to give them some that they can use every day was a blessing. They were all so excited. We use them when we go to ice station or when we go to, I ready all those Fun, educational apps and then being able to hear it without the noise of somebody else is also very helpful.
