Before we begin, I introduce the day's skills, such as analyzing plot, exploring how the setting influences the story, understanding character relationships, or identifying theme. As I read aloud, I model my thinking with \"think-alouds,\" and students frequently turn and talk with a partner to share their ideas. \r\n\r\nStudents are also parting writing responses and completing plot diagrams, which helps them connect their discussions to written evidence. The students used the dry erase boards with primary spaced lines and the ones with pre-written letter tracing aids during our handwriting practice sessions every day. One special moment was when the children took part in a \"letter tracing challenge,\" eagerly tracing letters on their own boards. They traced, erased, and traced again, gaining confidence with each attempt.\r\nWhen the students first saw the bright boards and markers, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. Many immediately wanted to hold the markers and try tracing letters themselves. It was wonderful to watch their pride grow as they successfully formed letters for the first time. The ability to erase mistakes and try again helped them feel comfortable and motivated to keep practicing.\r\nThanks to your generous support, by the end of the year, the students had progressed to forming simple words using these materials. They combined letter sounds with writing practice through fun, hands-on activities that helped build their early literacy skills. The moment the light table was unveiled, the children's eyes lit up with wonder, and their enthusiastic reactions, like \"Wow, it's like magic!\" set the stage for an engaging and explorative learning environment.\r\n\r\nAs we continue this journey, we're excited to take our \"Color Exploration\" unit to the next level by incorporating storytelling. One project involved a \"Community Vehicles\" activity where students explored vehicles that are used in our community, textures, and items found in nature. The excitement during this activity was contagious, as students eagerly shared their ideas and discoveries with one another.\r\n\r\nWhen the sensory tables were first unveiled, my students' reactions were priceless. Their eyes widened with wonder, and they rushed over, eager to explore the vibrant materials. Exclamations of joy filled the room, with comments like, \"What does it do?\" and \"Can we touch it?\" The sensory tables quickly became a focal point of our classroom, inviting curiosity and imaginative play. This initial excitement laid the foundation for a richer, more dynamic learning environment where exploration is celebrated.\r\n\r\nNext month, my preschool students are eager to dive into our next exciting activity: \"Melting Ice.\" This hands-on exploration will allow students to investigate how temperature affects ice and water in a fun and engaging way. In this activity, students will be provided with various objects, such as toy animals, blocks, and shapes, which they will freeze in ice. Once the ice is formed, we will gather around the sensory tables to observe the melting process. Students will take turns using warm water or their hands to gently melt the ice and discover what happens to the water as it changes from solid to liquid.\r\n\r\nThe impact of the sensory tables on our classroom cannot be overstated. They have enhanced our preschool experience by fostering curiosity, collaboration, and creativity among my students. Each child brings unique interests and talents to our classroom, and the sensory tables nurture these individual strengths while promoting a love for learning.
