Having a CoTeach classroom means that half of our students may have sensory needs that can affect their learning or the learning of their peers. By reducing the harshness of the fluorescent lights with the light covers the students have been able to engage in lesson and increase focus.\r\n\tAfter a full day of working on lessons, developing social skills and working on both fine and gross motor skills our students are able to rest, relax and have a calm room to help during quiet time. The curtains allow the room to still have light but limit the amount entering creating a space that allow the students to rest preparing them for the second half of the day. The sensory light has allowed the students to be able to focus on something relaxing as their tired eyes drift away to a restful sleep. The student have enjoyed the sounds that accompany the light allowing them to focus on something soft, soothing and calming after having a full morning. \r\n\tWe are so thankful for the contributions that have been made to our classroom. If it were not for these items many of our student would not have met their sensory needs.
