Many of my students come to school without having had breakfast, so having healthy snacks on hand has made a huge difference in their focus and energy throughout the day. One special moment happened during our reading block: a student who usually struggles to stay engaged was able to participate fully after having a quick snack—he even raised his hand to read aloud! These snacks have become an essential part of our daily routine, helping students stay alert and ready to learn. As we continue working on building various academic skills, it's clear that these snacks are fueling not just their bodies, but their confidence too. I'm so grateful to our donors for giving my students the chance to learn with full hearts and full bellies. Parents have also appreciated the donation greatly and are happy to know their children are well taken care of.","fullyFundedDate":1757012200412,"projectUrl":"project/feeding-minds-hearts-one-snack-at-a-t/9499091/","projectTitle":"Feeding Minds & Hearts, One Snack at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hefner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9220342_orig.jpg?crop=1438,1438,x440,y317&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693096601844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9220342"},{"teacherId":9220342,"projectId":8900346,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my thanks for your kindness and generosity in providing snacks for our first-grade classroom. Your support has made a meaningful difference in our daily learning experience, ensuring that my students stay energized, focused, and ready to engage in their lessons.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment my students saw the snacks, their faces lit up with excitement and gratitude. Some of them even cheered, saying, \"We get snacks every day?!\" It was a joy to witness their enthusiasm, knowing that these simple yet essential resources would help them feel cared for and supported throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nHaving access to snacks has allowed us to maintain focus, especially during our reading and math blocks when students are working hard to develop foundational skills. One particular moment that stands out was during our small reading groups. Instead of fidgeting or losing focus due to hunger, my students remained engaged, eager to participate, and confident in their learning. The impact of this nourishment goes beyond physical well-being—it fosters a positive learning environment where every child feels ready to succeed.\r\n\r\nThank you for being a part of our classroom community and for investing in the success of my students.
