When my students first walked in and saw our new station table, their eyes lit up with excitement. They were thrilled to have a dedicated space just for small-group learning, and now they eager look forward to station time each day so they can come sit and work directly with me. Having this physical space has completely shifted the energy in our room, making our targeted support sessions feel special and inviting.\r\n\r\nThis table has already made a massive difference in our daily routines and math practice. Just recently, we used the new table for a high-energy multiplication fact challenge. Sitting close together around the table, students worked with flashcards to see how many facts they could correctly master in a set time. The close-knit setup allowed me to instantly spot who needed extra help, provide immediate feedback, and celebrate every breakthrough moment right alongside them. It was incredible to watch their confidence grow in real time.\r\n\r\nAs we build on this momentum, our next step is working toward acquiring classroom calculators to help students manage grade-level math concepts. While we continue building foundational fact fluency at our new station table, many students still struggle with basic recall, which can hold them back from tackling complex on-level problems. Having access to calculators will ensure they don't fall behind on higher-level thinking while we continue mastering the basics.
