The scissors, glue, glue sticks, colored pencils, and markers you provided have allowed us to dive right into building our interactive notebooks, a project that is already changing the way my students connect with science.\r\nFrom the very first day, there was a buzz of excitement as students saw the colorful supplies laid out on their desks. Instead of just opening a textbook or filling out a worksheet, they now had the chance to cut, glue, fold, color, and create something that is uniquely theirs. Their reactions said it all with wide smiles, eager hands reaching for the markers, and conversations like, \"Can we add this in too?\" or \"I love how my notebook is turning out!\"\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was when we worked on our first vocabulary unit foldable. Normally, vocabulary practice feels routine, but with their new supplies, students turned it into an artful, creative process. They were comparing designs, helping each other cut neatly, and proudly showing off their finished pages. By the end of class, their notebooks weren't just filled with notes, they were filled with ownership and pride.\r\nYour support didn't just give us supplies; it gave my students the chance to make learning more personal and interactive. These notebooks are becoming their own science journals, filled with foldables, diagrams, and colorful notes that make concepts easier to understand and fun to review. For many of my students, this is the first time they've been able to keep such an organized and creative record of their learning.\r\nLooking ahead, these interactive notebooks will continue to grow with us throughout the year. As we move into the school year students will build diagrams of simple machines, label forces in action, and create graphic organizers to track experiments. Later, in environmental science, they'll design food web foldables, color-coded charts, and visual models of ecosystems. By the end of the year, each student will have a full, personalized portfolio of their science journey, something they can look back on with pride.\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in us. Because of you, my students are not only learning science but also learning to see themselves as creators, problem-solvers, and scientists in their own right. Your kindness has brought so much joy, creativity, and possibility to Room 103.","fullyFundedDate":1746785952897,"projectUrl":"project/science-in-their-hands-empower-learning/9327954/","projectTitle":"Science in Their Hands: Empower Learning with Interactive Notebooks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bianca Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10022231"},{"teacherId":9868456,"projectId":8996524,"letterContent":"I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to the \"Exploring the Microscopic World: Unveiling Life's Hidden Secrets Through Hands-On-Science\" project. Your support has made a significant difference in my classroom, enabling my students to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning that connects them to the fascinating world of microbiology.\r\n\r\nThe new resources have been invaluable in allowing students to explore the intricacies of microscopic life. Recently, we conducted a project where students used microscopes to examine different tissues and cells, and the excitement was palpable. Many of my students had never seen the detailed structure of cells up close, and the moment they first peered through the microscope lenses was a transformative experience. They were fascinated by the diversity of life forms hidden in everyday objects, and this sparked a genuine curiosity about the microscopic world that wasn't there before. This type of visual learning deepens their understanding in a way textbooks alone never could.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are now working on a project where they'll be identifying microorganisms from water samples taken from local ecosystems, using the skills and tools you've helped provide. This next phase will allow them to not only apply what they've learned but also contribute to the broader community's understanding of local biodiversity. I'm excited to continue this journey with them, and it wouldn't be possible without your support.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for believing in the power of hands-on science education and for making such a profound impact on my students' learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1734205549569,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-the-microscopic-world-unveili/8996524/","projectTitle":"Exploring the Microscopic World: Unveiling Life's Hidden Secrets Through Hands-On-Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Tamayo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9868456"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10322","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1760,"numTeachers":124,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":99,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.3,"schoolId":10322,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Roma High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Roma High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/roma-independent-school-district/roma-high-school/10322"}
