In our classroom, reading time is one of the most joyful parts of the day—we gather on the carpet for read-alouds, have small group discussions, and let students share their thoughts through drawing, writing, or acting out parts of the story. Some of my students who weren't very excited about reading at the beginning of the year are now asking to read during free time because they've found stories they love.
