The students were so excited to see the new \"toys\" we had! These hands-on tools brought math concepts to life, allowing students to physically explore ideas such as fractions, geometry, and decimals. Instead of just working through problems on paper, students were able to build, compare, and experiment-making abstract concepts more concrete and easier to understand. This interactive approach kept them engaged and excited during lessons, even when tackling more challenging topics. \r\n\tUsing the manipulatives regularly also helped students build strong problem-solving skills in preparation for the end of year STAAR test. By using the volume building kit and decimal models students practiced applying their knowledge in meaningful ways that deepen understanding. These activities not only supported different learning styles, but also boosted confidence as students became more comfortable working with the material. Overall, the manipulatives made math more enjoyable and accessible, and I saw real growth in both their enthusiasm and performance.","fullyFundedDate":1736309031042,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-jackson-5th-grade-math-classroom/9034972/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Jackson 5th Grade Math Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9888494"},{"teacherId":9716288,"projectId":8719008,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation that allowed my students to \"write around the room\". The donation of paper, double sided tape, laminator and laminating sheets helped make this possible. With students ranging from the ages of 3-5 having the chance to move around the room looking for friend's names and numbers gives them a much needed movement break as well. I was also able to make some of my own creations more durable and reusable. Again, I appreciate your generosity immensely.
