For example, one of our favorite new routines is starting the morning with a few minutes in the sensory room. Students choose between the cozy swing, calming lights, or tactile stations depending on what their bodies need to feel ready for the day. Just last week, one of my students who typically struggles with transitions was able to move smoothly from the sensory room back to reading group—something that had been a daily challenge before!\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was priceless. Students immediately gravitated toward the swing and sensory tiles, giggling, exploring, and asking, \"Can we use this every day?\" Their faces lit up as they realized this space was designed just for them—a place to feel safe, calm, and successful.\r\n\r\nThe next step for us is to keep weaving sensory supports into ongoing lessons and projects. As we learn more about how each student responds to different tools, we'll build personalized \"sensory breaks\" into their day, giving them the best chance to thrive academically and socially.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has created more than just a room—it's a safe space where students can regulate, build confidence, and return to learning with joy. We are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1723683424565,"projectUrl":"project/calm-focus-building-a-sensory-oasis-f/8592977/","projectTitle":"Calm & Focus: Building a Sensory Oasis for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kayla","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8431760_orig.jpg?crop=2048,2048,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723093825198","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8431760"},{"teacherId":9801719,"projectId":8873803,"letterContent":"DonorsChoose and Horace Mann Insurance Company,\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous support in providing our STEM classes with essential organizational tools and a classroom iPad. Your contributions have profoundly impacted over 100 students, empowering them with greater independence in their learning and fostering a stronger sense of responsibility in the classroom. These resources have allowed us to streamline our daily routines, enhance engagement, and create a more efficient and student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe classroom iPad has been an invaluable tool for mobile teaching and implementing effective feedback strategies. It has enabled real-time interactions, immediate assessment of student progress, and enhanced collaboration among students. The organizational tools you provided have also helped establish structured workstations, ensuring that students can take ownership of their materials and manage their responsibilities with confidence. These improvements have transformed the way we approach learning, making lessons more interactive and personalized.\r\n\r\nWe truly appreciate your commitment to supporting educators and students. Your generosity has not only provided us with necessary resources but has also inspired our students to take charge of their education with enthusiasm.
