They immediately noticed the games and snacks and asked thoughtful questions about how we would use them. We have been using the games during small-group instruction and structured play to practice turn-taking, communication, following directions, and problem-solving. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who typically struggles with peer interaction independently invite a classmate to play and patiently wait for their turn—something they had been working toward all year.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have also made a meaningful difference in our daily routines. Having consistent access to snacks has helped students stay regulated, focused, and ready to learn, especially during longer instructional blocks. Students are more engaged during lessons and transitions, and many are proudly practicing life skills such as making choices, cleaning up after themselves, and using polite language. Their smiles and eagerness to participate showed just how valued and supported they felt.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we are now building on these successes by incorporating the games and activities into ongoing lessons focused on independence, social skills, and classroom routines. Our next steps include using these resources to support cooperative group work, reinforce positive behavior, and help students generalize life skills across settings. Your support has truly strengthened our classroom community and helped create an environment where every student feels safe, confident, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1769192070384,"projectUrl":"project/snack-it-game-days/9992713/","projectTitle":"Snack It, Game Days","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9911034_orig.jpg?crop=883,883,x0,y54&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745464776310","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9911034"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15526","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":342,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":86,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"9.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":63.0,"schoolId":15526,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about McMasters Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"McMasters Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/pasadena-independent-school-district/mcmasters-elementary-school/15526"}
